Dothan Backpack Program

The Dothan Backpack Buddy FlyerBackpack Program was created to meet the needs of hungry children. It provides easy-to-prepare food for children to take home on weekends during the school year when other resources are not available.

Bagged meal items that provide two breakfasts, two lunches, and two snacks are distributed to every participating child at the end of each week at no cost to the students or their school. The Dothan Backpack Program is not federally funded; therefore it depends on donations from corporate/community sponsors, individuals, and grants to cover the costs of the program. Anyone can become a “Backpack Buddy” by sponsoring a child for $10 per month/$120 per year.
